Take a lesson in interior design from Edinburgh’s most coveted show homes.

When handed a brief to create a home that epitomises fun family living, interior designer Jill Eilbeck from Jeffreys Interiors decided to go for bold colour. Her gut instinct seems to have paid off as Cala has credited her design for the stampede to buy 82 percent of the Fairmilehead development’s homes with 80 out of 97 already snapped up. Well, that along with its architectural appeal and coveted location as a commuting hotspot.

The master bedroom is bright and spacious with a sunny yellow feature wall in Designers Guild Willow with pop of colour from a rainbow chandelier from Dar Lighting. The same colours are echoed in the statement headboard made by Charlotte James in Prestigious Textiles Confetti fabric. A block of colour from a Designers Guild blue bed throw grounds the look with accents from a hot pink bedside cabinet and an Eichholtz pink velvet stool.
In the kitchen, neutral cabinetry is teamed with edgy orange Peressini Casa dining chairs and a brushed linen sofa in aubergine from Sofa.com. With five bedrooms, two bathrooms, two en-suites, an open plan kitchen dining/living area, separate lounge, utility room and double garage – there’s also plenty of space to keep all the family happy.

The Lowther is priced from £715,000-£770,000, 01324 442 556, www.cala.co.uk.
